Supply, Installation and Pre-Commissioning of HV_LV and Telecommunications Equipment for Victoria Park Feeder Station and Park rd Traction Sectioning Cabinet

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Vic Park Feeder Station and Park Road Traction Sectioning Cabinet is a new edition to Queensland Rail’s Network. The project is part of the Queensland Rail Program delivered as a part of Cross River

Unity Alliance package of works, as it is a key inner-city feeder station solution to support network growth and operations.

SCOPE OF WORK

RSG was engaged to supply electrical and communication equipment, install and construct electrical and communication services, complete construction verification and pre-commissioning.

Scope of Works associated with the Project were separated into two portions:

  • Installation, Termination and testing of Free-issued 25kV Traction Power and 3.3kV Return Current cabling from Switchroom to OHLE Masts and Transformers interfacing with Rail Corridors and works under SCAS conditions

  • Installation, Termination and testing of Overhead Wiring and connection to 110/25kV Transformers, completion of construction interface between Energex and Queensland Rail

  • Traction Pit fitout with cable supports and earthing

Low Voltage Systems:

  • Installation of 11kV Kiosk Transformer Substation inclusive of SAT Testing, supply of 11kV incomer cable, installation and testing
  • Supply and Installation of above and below ground earthing inclusive of Earth Grid test
  • Design, Supply and Installation of cable containment underneath Switchroom
  • Supply and Installation of Isolation Transformers
  • Supply and installation of the feeder station external Switchroom and yard lighting systems
  • Installation of external substation HVAC system
  • Supply, installation and testing of all submain cables and final subciruit cables interfaces for Revenue Metering, Supply Authority and Transformer Protection panels
  • Installation and certification of lightning protection system
  • Testing and verification

Telecommunication Systems:

  • Supply and Installation of CCTV System
  • Supply and Installation of Perimeter Fence Detection System
  • Installation of 13m Telecommunication Tower with Antennas and 7/8” Coaxial Cable Install and Termination
  • Enhanced Radio Shelter fit out works consisting of Distribution Boards, Cable Tray and Small Power and Lighting followed by power commissioning
  • Supply and Installation of Communication Racks inclusive of QRON and QRCSN network equipment installation

.Subsequent to the base Subcontract RSG was awarded Completions and Commissioning Subcontract. Scope of Works associated with the completions subcontract included:

  • Testing and Verification of 415V/240V Power Distribution System including Lighting and Small Power
  • Close out and management of punch list works / close out works and handover to Queensland Rail Operation team

ACHIEVEMENTS

RSG performance on Victoria Park and Park Road packages led to RSG being awarded additional Subcontract works on Queensland Rail Substation Upgrade Programme.
