We are currently seeking Substation Electricians and Electrical Fitters for Terminal & Zone Substations for an exciting substation build in regional Victoria. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and work on critical infrastructure projects that make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities include:

• High Voltage Substation Builds: Perform all aspects of electrical work associated with Terminal & Zone Substations, including installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Cable Installation and Termination: Carry out cable installation, glanding, and terminating to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC): Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure all electrical installations meet VESI standards and client specifications.
• Pre-Commissioning: Prepare electrical systems for commissioning, including verifying all installations and connections for compliance and safety.
• Reading and Interpreting Electrical Schematics: Utilize Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and schematics to accurately plan and execute electrical work.
• Safe Work Practices in High Voltage Environments: Work safely around enclosed and open High Voltage (HV) switchgear, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
• Compliance with VESI Training and Safety Standards: Maintain up-to-date certifications and adhere to the VESI safety framework and environmental guidelines, including performing rescue operations and applying safe approach distances.
• Operation of High-Risk Equipment: Utilize high-risk work licences for dogging, rigging, crane operation, and elevated work platforms as required.
• Continuous Learning and Improvement: Engage in ongoing training and certification to stay current with industry standards and technologies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Substation and Primary Build Experience: Proven experience in the construction, maintenance, and operation of Terminal & Zone Substations.
• Victorian Electrical Licence: A current electrical licence valid in Victoria.
• VESI Passport: Must hold a current VESI accreditation.
• Additional Certifications (Desirable): High Risk Work Licences (Dogging, Rigging, Crane Operation, Boom-type Elevating Work Platform) and relevant safety training certifications such as CPR, First Aid in ESI environments, and Safe Approach Distances.

Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30811)
• High Risk Work Licences: Dogging (DG), Rigging, Crane Operation, Boom-type Elevating Work Platform (WP)
• Training in ESI safety rules, first aid, and manual handling
• Network Operator Induction and ESI Worker Card
