The Position:
The Project Manager, through proactive leadership and good governance, will administer and control all project management baselines as applicable to assigned signalling projects, through all phases of the project lifecycle as defined by and in accordance with the RSGx project management framework
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain a sound level of rail system technical understanding, including signalling, control and communication systems.
- Detailed review of the project scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements as defined in the project handover documentation, and subsequent initiation and setup of the project baselines within the agreed timeframes.
- Working with the relevant operations, lines of business, and functions within the Rail business unit, mobilise a project team and assign internal responsibilities for delivery of specific project requirements.
- Generation of the appropriate project planning and management documentation as contractually required,.
- Monitor and control the project financial baselines, investigating any variations to plan, and forecasting project revenue, costs and cash flows.
- Provide support to the Operations Manager in the continual development and improvement of the project management capability including audits, reviews, health checks and lessons learned for assigned projects and other projects within the Rail business.
Requirements to be successful:
- Experience working in rail systems, signal design and construct environment
- Demonstrable success in, and sound understanding of, project management in a multi-disciplined construction, maintenance or engineering environment.
- Minimum 5 years experience in rail projects
