The Position:
The SMP QA/QC (Structural, Mechanical, and Piping Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications in the construction, fabrication, and installation of structural, mechanical, and piping systems. The inspector will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to monitor and assess the quality of workmanship, materials, and processes throughout the project lifecycle. The primary goal of the SMP QA/QC Inspector is to uphold the highest quality standards and ensure the safe and efficient operation of SMP systems.
The Person:
As the successful candidate you will have:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a QA/QC Inspector in SMP systems or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of structural, mechanical, and piping systems, materials, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Certification in quality management or related disciplines is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards for SMP systems.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections, audits, and surveillances at various stages of construction, fabrication, and installation to verify compliance with quality requirements.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of inspection activities, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality records. Generate comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform or witness tests, measurements, and evaluations of materials, equipment, and systems to assess performance, durability, and quality. Analyze test results and recommend appropriate actions.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances to project stakeholders. Assist in the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure their compliance with quality standards and specifications. Conduct assessments and evaluations of their performance as required.
