DESCRIPTION
The Sonel MMR-650 Low Resistance Meter is designed to measure very low resistances of both resistive and inductive
types
of objects, including amorphous core transformers. This product is engineered for use in power plants, railways and
maintenance companies to measure welded and soldered connections, equipotential bondings, earthing conductors,
contacts,
bolted connections, windings of motors and power transformers and other resistive and inductive objects.
The MMR-650 can also be utilised on production lines (e.g. at the final production control stage). It’s an
innovative
combination of a high-performance measuring device with a modern user interface and an advanced data management
system.
Wireless data transmission, an enhanced system of 2D codes and the ability to print labels to identify test items
all
contribute to a new quality of work and allow the user to perform a wide range of measurements.

Applications
- Power plants — In power plants, the MMR-650 is indispensable for ensuring the efficient operation and safety of electrical systems. It precisely measures low resistances in transformers and conductors, aiding in effective energy distribution and the maintenance of system reliability.
- Railway systems — This meter is vital in maintaining safe and efficient operations in railway infrastructures by accurately assessing the resistance of rail bonds and electrical connections. This precise measurement is vital for the smooth functioning of railway electrical systems, ensuring safety and operational efficiency in the rail network.
- Industrial maintenance — The MMR-650 is crucial for routine checks and troubleshooting in industrial facilities because it helps evaluate the integrity of connections and earth bonds. This helps in preventing equipment failure, ensuring operational safety and maintaining continuous production.
- Quality control in manufacturing — In the manufacturing sector, especially in final-stage quality control, the MMR-650 verifies if products meet electrical standards. Its precise resistance measurements can confirm product quality, enhancing overall manufacturing excellence and ensuring the reliability of electrical components before they reach the market.
- Electrical system installations — The meter is essential for gauging the integrity of new electrical installations, including earthing systems and bonding connections. It can help a professional certify if these installations meet safety standards and function optimally.
