RSGx is excited to announce that we have been awarded a contract for mechanical and electrical systems design on the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project.

The T2D Project is the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor and will complete 78km of non-stop, traffic light free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga. Drivers will be able to bypass 21 sets of traffic lights between the River Torrens and Darlington as they travel through two separate tunnels, connected by an open motorway.

‍The scope of work for RSGx will include the design of:

  • Electrical systems
    • High voltage distribution
    • Earthing and bonding
    • Low voltage distribution
    • Carriageway lighting
    • General and emergency lighting
  • Mechanical Systems
    • Tunnel ventilation modelling
    • Tunnel ventilation system

RSGx will complete the full design of these M&E Systems to the following locations and areas:

  • Equipment rooms (Underground and Surface)
  • Substations
  • Tunnel ventilation stations
  • Pump stations and sumps
  • Fire pump station
  • Tunnels, including
    • Bored and driven tunnel sections
    • Cut and cover tunnels sections
  • Egress passages and services tunnels

General Manager of Infrastructure Engineering John Walsh said: “This is a milestone award for RSGx. It crystalises our position in the top box in relation to engineering design on a major project. We are delighted to have been awarded this scope and are thankful to our client for their trust on this landmark project that will reshape how people travel in Adelaide.”

The $15.4 billion T2D Project is jointly funded (50:50) by the Australian and South Australian governments.
