The Opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest for Electrical Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to provide engineering and technical support and play a key role in coordinating between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to achieve successful project outcomes for infrastructure, rail, and data centre projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance off and onsite via technical understanding of electrical project work scopes.
- Liaise with Engineers, Technicians, and Engineering Managers to determine scheduling and management of resources.
- Monitor safe execution of the project.
- Provide project reporting on progress, commercial, schedule, etc.
- Perform quality checks on project work, including coordination with third party inspection if required.
- Ensure approval of correct and timely paperwork for a seamless monthly billing process.
- Ensure project schedules are current, QA documentation is reviewed and transmitted to client.
- Complete project RFI, TQ and NCRs, and maintain registers.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated with register maintained.
- Scope new projects and assist with technical input, sourcing of supplier pricing, quoting of work.
- Preparation and assessment of delay and variation claims, including cost tracking and contract administration.
- undertake pre-engineering activities including scope definition, design coordination, constructability reviews, and procurement support.
- Planning and coordinating site works, including resource allocation, sequencing, and integration with other disciplines.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong technical expertise in power systems, lighting, earthing/grounding, control systems, and communications networks.
- Experience in infrastructure, rail, and/or data centre projects, including HV/LV distribution, traction power systems, and critical power environments (UPS, generators, redundancy systems).
- Sound understanding of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. AS/NZS standards, rail standards, electrical safety regulations, and data centre design guidelines such as TIA-942 or Uptime Institute).
- Experience specifying electrical equipment (switchboards, transformers, cabling systems, containment, protection systems, SCADA/communications).
- Proven ability to lead and organise field personnel and subcontractors into efficient, safe working teams.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, and layout plans.
- Experience with testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including QA/QC processes and documentation (ITPs, check sheets, FAT/SAT).
- Familiarity with project management tools, scheduling (Primavera/MS Project), and reporting.
