RSGx are delighted to announce that we have been awarded with the supply, installation and pre-commissioning of HV and Telecommunications equipment for the @crossriverrailproject. The works will be taking place within the Mayne Yard North and the Breakfast Creek sites.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line in Brisbane, which runs from Dutton Park, in the city’s south to Bowen Hills in the city’s north and runs through the city centre at Albert street and Roma street. Cross River Rail will transform the way people travel across the whole of SEQ in the future.

It includes 5.9 kilometres of bi-directional tunnels under the Brisbane river and CBD. The works, which are due to commence in March 2021, will initially consist of the earth grid installation and assembly of structural steel for theTraction Sectioning Cabinet.

From this point, further scopes include the installation of CCTV poles prior to the track being laid, ICT and network equipment installation and pre-commissioning, HV cable hauling and terminations.

State manager Donal Leahy has said “This will be a complex scope, as hitting target dates is always critical when working on a rail project and in the rail corridor.”

RSGx country Manager, Kris Caplice said “we are thrilled to be part of this landmark project. We have a wealth of experience in the rail industry and with the strong team we have onsite, we know we can contribute in a meaningful way. We hope to have a significant involvement over the coming months and years.”

The package is scheduled to be completed in early 2022.
