RSGx are excited to announce that we have been awarded with the Signalling ESDS (Essential Services Distribution System) Delivery Package of Works, as part of the Additional Works Package 6 project area (AWP6) on the Southern Program Alliance (SPA) project. The SPA project is a section of the $6 billion Level Crossings Removal Project, in Melbourne, Victoria, which involves the removal of 75 level crossings, of which 2 are included in AWP6 at Warrigal Road and Parkers road.
The AWP6 package involves building a viaduct that goes over a road and has an approximate length of 1,150m, as well as replacing all the existing track formation and overhead infrastructure for a stretch of about 2.3km between project limits on the track.
It also includes creating a new local Parkdale Station with a platform on each side, supported by the substructure of the rail viaduct, and constructing civil infrastructure such as footpaths, shared use paths, carparks and drainage.
RSGx have been tasked with the removal of AWP6 enabling assets and the installation of the Essential Services Distribution System (ESDS) and bonding requirements for the final stage of AWP 6 rail signalling works which includes:
- Removal of all redundant Signalling cables, HV cables, signalling and HV trackside equipment and redundant cables.
- Installation of Bonding requirements as per Bonding Plans
- Cable Hauling for new 3C 35mm cables
- Inspection and acceptance of all XIRIA Switchgear, transformers and switchboards.
- Supply and installation of compromise joints, HV XIRIA switchgear and associated equipment including SCADA RTU cabinets.
- Installation of transformers, switchboards, earth bars and earthing and of all signage.
- Termination of test earths to 110V switchboards.
- Routing of cables from switchgear to SCADA panels.
- LV Cabling including pulling, termination and testing.
- HV cable installation between switchgear and transformers including termination and testing (incl VLF testing).
- Supply and termination/jointing of HV terminations of all HV cables.
- Termination of three temporary generators plus the Certificate of Electrical Safety.
- Testing of all HV and LV cables.
- Installation of COMS conduits at VicTrack cabinet on HV box.
- Installation of fibre patch leads to VicTrack junction box.
- Installation of shrouds for VicTrack cabinet and 110V SB on both HV and Signalling boxes.
- Installation of VLD boards, cabling, terminations and testing.
- Completion of all quality documents including ITPs and check sheets.
- Removal of all redundant equipment and cables.
- Testing and Commissioning of switchgear, SCADA operations and energise into service.
