Civil Design Engineer – Water Infrastructure

Your opportunity

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer with experience in water infrastructure design to join our team in Brisbane or Sydney. As part of our innovative WaterEngx team, you’ll work on major water infrastructure projects for national clients, contributing to a diverse and varied portfolio across the water sector.

This role offers exposure to complex projects involving earthworks, stormwater and pipeline design, as well as associated civil elements including concrete pits, landscaping, fencing, retaining walls, structures, foundations, and slabs. You will develop high-quality project deliverables that meet design requirements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining effective coordination with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders.

You will collaborate closely with Senior Civil Engineers who will provide technical guidance and support, while also being encouraged to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and the ability to manage and deliver projects with minimal supervision. The role suits an adaptable, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working across multidisciplinary teams and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

About you

Holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent, you bring proven design experience in a consulting environment, delivering projects across civil and water infrastructure, power, or oil & gas sectors, underpinned by a strong technical understanding of civil engineering principles.

Your experience includes collaborating with drafters, multidisciplinary teams, and clients to deliver detailed design and documentation for major water infrastructure projects, including earthworks, stormwater and pipe design, as well as associated civil elements such as concrete pits, landscaping, fencing, retaining walls, structures, foundations, and slabs.

Proficiency in producing project deliverables, including reports, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation, with demonstrated capability in using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
