Your opportunity
As a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer, you bring a versatile and adaptable approach, with a proven ability to contribute across a wide range of industries and high-impact projects. You’ll be excited by the opportunity to lead the design function across diverse sectors, bringing technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset to every stage of delivery.
This opportunity at times may include Project Management duties, particularly for smaller contracts. In these situations, the Engineer is expected to undertake and deliver the Project Management duties, being responsible for delivery of the project’s technical and commercial aspects.
Duties include:
- Input to, and preparation and review of, tenders and proposals, and ensuring technical compliance of design works.
- Interpretation of project requirements and preparation of calculations and sketches.
- Project set-up upon award, including server file structure and BillQuick set-up
- Efficiently working across software packages such as Autocad and Autocad 3D.
- Overseeing design and documentation for Mechanical services.
- Working closely with a diverse client base, responding efficiently to client’s needs, including attendance at meetings and inspections. Acting as first POC for all design coordination and reviews.
- Being responsible for project costings, monitoring project performance and budget ensuring that key dates are met and projects remain within budget.
- Design & Development: Create detailed designs and layouts for water pumping station, wastewater treatment, and mechanical equipment is all projects.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from initial concept through production, ensuring timelines and budget requirements are met.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, design documents, and progress updates to communicate project status to stakeholders.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who can help grow the company’s reputation as a preferred provider in the marketplace, while fostering strong and productive relationships with both colleagues and clients
- Experience in preparing detailed mechanical services design documentation
- A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and has obtained or currently working towards CP Eng, NER and RPEQ following completion of your degree qualification.
- Proficient with Autocad modelling software.
- Ideally holds a Construction White Card, MIEAust.
