About the Role
RSGx are currently seeking an experienced PTW Coordinator to act as the custodian of the Principal’s PTW system and manage the end-to-end PTW process during commissioning including issuing, tracking and closing permits; ensure consistent, correct application across all work fronts.
This role forms part of an integrated commissioning team on a first-of-its-kind project. It’s an excellent opportunity to further strengthen your commissioning capability.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure all permits are correctly documented, stored in accordance with site procedures; maintain and update PTW logs and databases for audit and review purposes.
- Operate the permit desk: intake, screening, coordination, issuance, field validation, suspension, and closure.
- Run daily permit coordination meetings (construction, commissioning, operations, OEMs) to plan and deconflict SIMOPS.
- Maintain a live permit board showing active permits, isolations, boundaries, hazardous area access certificates, and conflicts.
- Ensure Isolation Statements are accurate, complete, and traceable (unique IDs, lock numbers, point-of-isolation photos, verifier signatures).
- Coordinate group locks and personal locks, ensuring correct application of lock boxes and authorization levels.
- Validate return-to-service steps: removal sequence, function tests, barrier reinstatement, and permit closure.
- Administer Hazardous Area Access Certificates (Zones 0/1/2) and verify equipment compliance (IECEx/ATEX, EPLs, earthing/bonding).
- Enforce ignition source control: hot work exclusions, static control, intrinsically safe devices, and exclusion zones around hydrogen systems.
- Verify hydrogen system readiness: purge/inert sequences, LEL detectors calibration/bump tests, alarm setpoints, vent/ESD operability.
- Confirm portable gas detectors usage and calibration status; track daily bump test records linked to permits.
- Verify that all work activities comply with the Principal’s PTW process and isolation/tagging procedures.
- Confirm that Job Hazard Analyses are completed before permit approval.
- Act as the central point of contact between operations, commissioning teams, and Contractors Consultant for PTW-related matters.
- Communicate permit conditions and safety requirements to all involved personnel.
- Ensure personnel involved in PTW activities have completed required training and hold valid certifications.
- Provide guidance and support to teams on PTW procedures and compliance requirements.
About You
- Previous project experience in a similar role in commissioning, start-up and operations phases.
- Training in Gas Testing.
- Experience in reviewing JHA and PTW documentation.
- Experience in reviewing and updating a PTW system and associated documentation would be highly regarded.
