This opportunity will see you

Take full ownership of the national estimating function — from reviewing customer enquiries and developing detailed, accurate cost estimates covering labour, materials, and equipment, through to leading kick-off meetings, shaping win strategies, and overseeing every proposal from first brief to final submission.

Day-to-day you’ll analyse RFP documentation, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and challenge assumptions to ensure every estimate is technically compliant, commercially sharp, and aligned with how we intend to win. You’ll run cost review meetings, support and develop your estimating team one-on-one, and hold the standard on submission timelines across the board.

Behind the numbers, you’ll maintain and continuously refine estimating bases, assembly costs, catalogue pricing, and norms within ProEst — benchmarking against real operational performance to keep our pricing both competitive and credible. You’ll work closely with the Pre-Contracts Systems Manager to sharpen template processes, partner with Procurement and Rate Card teams on pricing strategy, and ensure every handover is clean, documented, and set up for delivery success.

This isn’t a back-office estimating role. You’ll be at the centre of how RSGx wins work nationally.

This role can be based at any of our major cities, even regionally for the right candidate. 

What You’ll Bring

You’ll come from an electrical contracting background — whether you’re an Estimating Manager ready to operate at greater scale, or a Senior Estimator who’s been doing the work and is ready to own the function. Either way, you know LV, HV, and Comms inside out, and you’ve built your reputation delivering accurate, reliable cost projections on complex infrastructure, industrial, transport, or power projects.

Your qualifications back your electrical discipline, and your experience speaks for itself, but what sets you apart is the way you think. You can cut through complex technical requirements and translate them into sharp, competitive proposals that win. You’re confident in estimating software, and if you’ve worked in ProEst, you’ll hit the ground running.

Beyond the technical, you’re a leader. You know how to guide and mentor a team, align people around a strategy, and hold a standard without losing the room. You communicate with clarity, engage stakeholders with credibility, and when it matters, you know how to influence outcomes.
