Your Opportunity
The State Operations Manager, Victoria is responsible for the end-to-end operational leadership and commercial performance of all RSGx projects within Victoria. The role spans high-voltage, substations, renewables, oil & gas/mining infrastructure, and mechanical & electrical (M&E) scopes of work.
Reporting directly to the General Manager – East, this role ensures that all projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations, contractual obligations, and RSGx standards.
Key accountabilities include P&L ownership and staff responsibility across all Victorian projects, people leadership across a multi‑disciplinary workforce; industrial relations and union management; client and stakeholder engagement; business development; and the identification and conversion of new revenue opportunities in Victoria.
Our RSGx office is based in Oakleigh, close to the Monash freeway.
What We’re Looking For
Bringing a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the electrical/construction industry with at least 5 years in a senior management role, you’ve managed large-scale project portfolio’s with a combined contract value of $100M+ and a direct workforce of 100+ personnel.
You bring strong technical understanding of M&E construction disciplines, HV powerline, substation, renewables, and experience in P&L management, project cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting, and managing Union Enterprise Agreements, navigating industrial relations in a unionised environment. You will also demonstrate the following key capabilities to succeed as the State Operations Manager, Victoria
- Experienced in multi‑project resource planning, asset allocation, and operational oversight, including pre‑contracts, tender reviews, sell‑rate development, and project mobilisation.
- Experience interacting with client systems such as (e.g. Procore, SharePoint, field management platforms).
- Trade or tertiary qualification in Electrical, Civil, Engineering, or Construction Management, and hold a current Construction Induction White Card.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Experience across infrastructure, energy, oil & gas sectors.
- Familiarity with the Victorian regulatory environment, network owners (e.g. AusNet, Jemena, Powercor), and relevant industry bodies, or RSGx’s operational environment and client portfolio.
- Management of state industrial relations.
