The Position
As RSGx continues to experience exponential growth, we are looking for an experienced Surveyor to support the successful execution of Transmission and Distribution overhead powerline projects in WA. This position requires a skilled professional with experience in land and construction surveying, spatial data capture, and interpretation of technical drawings.
The Surveyor will work closely with project teams, engineers, construction personnel, clients, and stakeholders to ensure all survey data is accurate, compliant, and supports efficient project delivery in line with regulatory and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys including route selection, set-out, and as-built surveys for powerline projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks and benchmarks.
- Capture and process spatial data using surveying equipment such as GPS/GNSS and total stations.
- Produce survey reports, plans, and documentation.
- Provide set-out data to construction teams for accurate installation of infrastructure.
- Verify completed works against design through as-built surveys.
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, regulations, and project specifications.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate survey records and documentation.
About You
- Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Spatial Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in surveying within infrastructure or utilities projects.
- Proficiency using surveying equipment (GPS/GNSS, total stations).
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Australian surveying standards and regulations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
